I don't run air-conditioning unless it's unbearably hot. But with my windows down I was getting too much noise, and the wind was buffeting the side of my head. I was prepared to buy deflectors that with the double-sided tape, even though they look kind of tacky. When I saw these for sale, the product description said they mounted without the tape. I couldn't see how, but I ordered anyway.

So what they do is to slip in underneath the window sealing rubber at the top of the window, and are held there by tension. The fit is very good, and looks like it was installed from the factory (aside from their discreet logo, which I could live without). They have a bit of grey tint, which looks good.

So how do they work? Pretty well. Up to about 45 or 50 mph, they definitely cut the wind noise and the buffeting of my head. At highway speeds, not so much; but I didn't expect them to. They don't shake or move around. And they don't introduce any other new wind noises of their own.

One nice side effect is that I can leave the front windows down about an inch or so to keep the car cooler when it's parked, and not worry about rain getting in. (I don't need to lock my car where I live.)

One possible downside is that they squeeze in on the same rubber strip which seals the window when it closes, so it's a tighter fit to close the window. I've had them installed for almost a year, and it hasn't caused any real problem, but you should be aware.
