Beck Arnley 028-0172 Oil Pump Review

Used this oil pump to replace a leaking unit on a 1983 Toyota Celica. I probably could have just replaced the front oil seal on the old unit but for the price I figured it best to replace the entire pump. When replacing this pump be sure to use the harmonic balancer shaft repair seal (Fel-Pro 16214 Gasket) as the seal has probably worn a groove in the mating surface. The pump comes off fairly easily, but remove the radiator, fan and belts to make access easier. The pump is a direct replacement for OEM so there were no issues with fitment or alignment. I did find it helpful to dab a small amount of form-a-gasket to each corner of the groove in the block where the o-ring sits to keep it in place while I mounted the new unit. All in all a great product and so far no leaks or issues.
