Sierra starter. For me it was a big deal to find a decent replacement for my original starter on V6 175hp two cycle outboard. This starter is hiding under the ordinary looking shell a new permanent magnet technology. I am getting 50% better cranking rpm. Strongly recommended. It was advertised as fitting in line 6-cyl outboards, but also fits perfectly my 1976 V6 175hp Mercury. One warning - put high quality grease on Bendix spline - they sell it dry. Many experts say, oil if fine too, but warn of possible contamination of brushes if too much oil is used.
