VDO PM9223 Blower Motor Review

This part fits my 2006 Ford F-150. It mounts inside the cab on the passenger side where the floor transitions to the firewall beneath the glove box. The thick floor matting material makes for a tight fit. You have to insert it at the correct angle and attitude in order for it to fit.

It's only been installed in my truck for a few hours. It is much louder than the OEM Siemens manufactured motor. It's especially noticeable when I turn the ignition off while the AC is running. You can hear this motor wind down to a stop. It may become quieter after some use. Only time will tell. We'll see how well this one holds up. My OEM Siemens motor burned out on me after 6 years. First time I've had a blower motor fail me. It's an easy fix and a very easy project to tackle on your own to save on those huge shop fees. I knew mine burned out when the motor surged erratically and then stopped completely after a burnt electrical wire smell. Only requires one tool (5/16" wrench) to install.
