We love these! They added so much to our main living space. The eye is drawn to them. They add such elegance while not being overly ornate. They have a way of blending the old world chandeliers that we have with a contemporary flare in a seamless fashion. They are solid and not fake, the look expensive and they have a tint of gold peaking through the oil-rubbed color for depth and character. I sound like the marketing director, don't I? Anyway, I removed the glass as I did from my chandeliers and replaced them with a simple taupe cylinder shade from Garden Ridge and I was surprised at the way it transformed the fixtures into something that looks like it is in an upscale restaurant. My husband and kids were also amazed. But, even with the glass that comes with it, it is beautiful. The simple scroll ties in with my other fixtures so it worked out well.
