I only needed a new fuel pump but ordered this kit that came with the sending unit also just because I figured I would change it while I had the tank dropped. Pump went in perfect but the sending unit would have given a false reading because the float was to close to the sump in the tank and would have kept hanging up so I just re-installed the old one. I'm sure I could have modified it to work but I saw no point in taking a chance on a false fuel level
