I inherited a 1994 Volvo 850 Station Wagon from my son in which the original shocks were long gone. The ride was terrible and we used to wince whenever we went over any kind of bump at any speed more than crawling. The Monroe Sensa shocks fit well, and the ride greatly improved, but not up to the level I had hoped for. The ride is great on smooth pavement and acceptable on rougher roads but not up to the ride of a premium shock such as a Koni or a Bilstein. But at these prices its hard for me to expect much more! Caution: It is almost a mandatory requirement that if there has been a significant number of miles on the car and the shocks haven't been changed in awhile, that you also change the upper and lower mounts for the front struts. There is a lot of Chinese made junk out there, and I have discovered the hard way to pay the extra money for a high quality mounts; as the cheap Chinese ones sometimes last only a few thousand miles before they start groaning and squeaking over EVERY bump! IPD has the best selection of the higher quality parts (ipdusa.com), and often you can get an idea which is the good brand and then find it way cheaper here on Amazon! That's what I did and I turned a $1400 quoted repair job (shocks and struts all wheels and most of the front suspension replaced) into a $600 total cost repair with a friend's auto repair shop installing everything for $100! If you are mechanically inclined this is a doable job which will take about a weekend or so to do and save even more! The car rides very well now and it is a joy to drive!
